Pocket Director collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Your recordings stay on your phone, and the live picture travels only across your own Wi-Fi to a device you approve by hand.
This policy applies to the Android app Pocket Director (com.sjapps.pocketdirector), published by Saeid Jahromi. In this policy, "the app" means that application and nothing else.
Nothing. The app does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal data. There is no account to create, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics or measurement service, and no crash reporting.
The app asks for camera and microphone permission because it cannot film without them. Both are used only on your device, and only while the app is open:
Videos are saved to your phone's own storage, in Movies/PocketDirector. They belong to you. The app never uploads them, copies them off the device, or reads recordings made by other apps.
Removing the app removes its access to those files. Deleting the videos themselves is yours to do, from within the app or from your phone's gallery.
To let you watch yourself while filming, the app runs a small web server on your phone and serves the preview over your local Wi-Fi. This matters, so to be exact:
Because the picture crosses your network, treat an untrusted network as you would for anything else: on shared or public Wi-Fi, other people are on it too.
The Report a bug button opens your own email app with a message already written, including the app version, your phone's make, model and Android version, and the camera's reported capability. Nothing is sent automatically. You can read it, change it, or delete it, and it only leaves your phone when you press send.
If you do send one, we receive the email and whatever you chose to include in it. It is used to fix the problem you reported, and nothing else.
The app contains no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party analytics. The software libraries it is built with (Android's own camera components, plus open-source libraries for QR codes and encryption) run entirely on your device and send nothing anywhere.
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.
Because no personal data is collected or held, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. Everything the app produces lives on your own phone and is under your control. If you have emailed us a bug report and would like it deleted, ask at the address below and it will be.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
